Locally Founded For the exclusive benefit of Collier County students. In the latter part of 1993 a local businessman, Tad Dekko, and a local educator, Gene Oliff, came together at the encouragement of the then Superintendent of Collier County Public Schools, Dr. Robert Munz. Bob Munz knew that both men wished to establish a mentoring program in Collier County that would provide the long-term incentive and resources needed to send students to college. Quest For Kids™ is the direct result of their collaborative efforts. In January, 1994, twelve students met with twelve mentors, in a classroom at Lake Park Elementary School, and the shared vision of Tad Dekko and Gene Oliff became a reality and Collier County's first mentoring, tutoring and scholarship program. Currently, 173 Collier County students are participating in Quest For Kids™:
